There was clearly some of that.

1. The recent Venez. case (22 tons total, 1 ton prosecutable) suggests a strong case for spooks habitually involved in trafficking.

2. Lt. Col. Oliver North's Enterprise monies were laundered by the Contras through DIACSA, a corp run by convicted traffickers.

3. Don Gregg reported on the arrival of each plane in Honduras. With that kind of intel, obvious North's operation knew the whereabouts of all the NHAO fleet, coming and going.

4. You missed one (perhaps quibbling) point: The spooks, the DoJ, the DoD, Customs, DEA, the whole federal system was directed to either _PROTECT_ or not _IMPEDE_ the Contra pipelines. This isn't quite the same as DIRECTLY shipping the CONTRAband, but is part of a _HUGE_ picture of drenching the US in cheap coke.

Suffice it to say, the worst case is what indeed transpired.
